After I picked Zack up from the college last night, we went to the dollar movies and watched American Gangster. Why did we choose to see this flick? Well, we didn’t look at the schedule first, and it was the only thing that was starting when we showed up. We would have had to wait an hour for anything else to start, and we didn’t really have anything to do for an hour. It seems like every time we go see a movie at the cheap theater, I notice a ton of mistakes in it. During American Gangster, I saw the boom mike 17 times. That doesn’t count the time that I walked out to use the restroom, or when I fell asleep for a few minutes (I say it was 10, Zack says it was more like 30, but I don’t think I missed anything. Maybe I’m giving the filmmakers too much credit here, thinking I couldn’t miss a half hour without missing some important plot points.) Zack thinks the theater is somehow projecting the movie incorrectly and thus showing the boom mike more than they should, but I think if it had been properly filmed and edited, it wouldn’t have been a problem. But anyway, bloopers aside, it was actually an alright movie, but waaayy too long.

I’m going to start trying to eat healthier and get more exercise, not so much as a diet or New Year’s resolution, but just to get healthier in general, and, well, also to lose some weight, but I’ll probably be more likely to stick with it if I don’t try to think of it so much as “a diet.”  Fast food and San Diego banquet rooms are obviously not part of the plan; veggies and the elliptical machine are.

I keep waiting until it’s really late to post, and then I don’t feel like writing anything. I think I need to start writing earlier in the day. Right now I’m watching The Toybox This is one of the better movies we’ve seen in a while, even if I don’t fully know what’s going on.

Flight of the Living Dead is bad. Not funny bad or so-bad-it’s-good, just bad. Two thumbs down, do not rent. Fido looked promising from the preview, but I fell asleep and missed the middle. I need to go back and rewatch it later. Maybe. Anyone know of any good cheesy horror movies that just came out recently? We watch a lot of movies, and we’re running out of ideas. I mostly just grab them at random now. I have the MVP at Hollywood Video, so I don’t really worry about picking something good since I’m not paying $3 or $4 each.
