I went to the endocrinologist this morning for my thyroid checkup. I had to wait an hour for the lab to send my results over, which they should have done already but didn’t, and they had some sort of technical difficulties so it took forever. Anyway, my thyroid meds are working fine, labs came back looking good. I’m scheduled to go in tomorrow morning for an ultrasound to see if my thyroid is any more enlarged than it was when I had the last one done.

I e-mailed my advisor, only to find out that he’s no longer my advisor because he’s been promoted to department chair. He gave me the e-mail of my new advisor, and I’m waiting on her to get back to me. He did tell me, however, that the two classes I want to take at the other campus sound okay to him, and I’m guessing if the head of the department says it’s okay, there won’t be a problem with it. If it works out, it’ll save me time and gas and stress, and I’ll only have to commute two nights a week.

Sis-in-law’s lizard has cancer. This sucks. I got pretty attached to my “nieces” when I was lizard-sitting last year, and her mama loves her so.

Okay, so this is old news now. About 12 hours ago a 5.4 magnitude earthquake hit Southern California. I felt it. Well, more accurately, I saw it. I just stood there in shock, watching my mom’s flat screen TV sway front to back, over and over…I grabbed the arm of the couch and briefly thought about heading for the doorway, but it was over. My mom actually was on the phone with her doctors’ office, and the girl told her, “There’s an earthquake.” She repeated it to me, and we were kind of confused as to why she thought that, but then it hit a few seconds later. My dad is in San Diego for the week and he said the high-rise building he was in shook for an entire minute. Which is crazy, because we’re in L.A. county and thus much closer to the epicenter. Anyway, that was my excitement for the day!

Not much going on here. I feel really sick and blah right now, so I think I’m going to take a little nap or just veg here for a while. Zack is off playing in the poker tournament. I went with him last night, but I didn’t feel up to it today. He had his appendix out last weekend, so he needs to get his stitches out tomorrow. He’s recovering really well! I’m so glad he ended up having laparoscopic surgery instead of slicing him open.

Big bro and his wife are coming out this weekend. I hope I feel better tomorrow because I need to clean the bathroom and such to get ready for them.

My parents got me a GPS today! Yay!! I am the most directionally challenged person I know of, and this will be a huge help when I have to start driving to school next semester, because I am not very familiar with Northridge. Also it will be great when we go visit my brother/sis-in-law, and I’m sure for a variety of other occasions.

Now, thanks to my dad, I have a GPS and satellite radio in my car. Now all I need is to make some money so I can put them in a car that isn’t so beat up with 90,000+ miles on it.

I swung by Burger King today because we needed more Indiana Jones game pieces were hungry. The person next to me was trying to order a bacon ranch chicken sandwich or something like that. The manager told them, “No we don’t have that here….Oh! You must be thinking of Carl’s Jr. They have one and it’s really good!”

Today, at the gas station:

Customer: *hands the clerk a $20 bill*
Clerk: Which pump?
Customer: Number 7.
Clerk: There are only 4 pumps.
Customer: Oh..uhh…

Does anyone else get mad at people for stuff they do in their dreams? My mom does it to my dad, I do it to Zack… Is this something that happens to other people too? Is is a female thing or does it just run in the family? Somehow it’s hard for me not to be angry even though I’m fully aware that it didn’t really happen. But I know it can’t be fun waking up next to someone who’s glaring at you for no apparent reason.

Hello, sadly neglected blog. Sorry I haven’t updated in ages!

I’ve been so insanely busy with school it’s ridiculous. I was supposed to be able to graduate in December, but I haven’t found a summer internship, and December graduation was dependent on my being able to do an internship and take one class. In the fall, I was supposed to do another internship and take 4 classes. So, maybe it’s better if I stay another semester anyway, because I think I would go insane being that busy! I need to keep looking for internships anyway, though, because that’s how you get your foot in the door and find employment in the entertainment industry anyway.

Right now, I need to get back to reading The Man Who Fell to Earth, because I have a paper due on Friday comparing the book to the movie. Then I’ve got to read about a hundred pages in my management book, and do more work for another class… At least the semester’s almost over! Yay!

You probably haven’t may have noticed there haven’t been any updates in a few days. Well, that’s because Zack and I are up in San Jose visiting my brother & his wife, and I’ve been busy enjoying my last few days of freedom before the next semester starts. We’ll probably be leaving tomorrow, and then I’ll be back online. Hooray for visiting family - good times!
